Questions and answers

What happens if I lose the links?

If you got your key while signed in, sign in here with the same Google account and both links are shown again. If you took the free trial without signing in, the links cannot be recovered — nothing about them is stored in a readable form. Take the trial while signed in and you keep that safety net.

Does my child need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no password and no email for the child. The link is the whole thing.

Which language will my child see?

The one attached to your key. Choose it when you get the key and rekid.uk opens in that language on any device — the child is never asked to pick.

Can the link be used on more than one device?

Yes. Open the same link on a tablet, a laptop or a phone. Nothing is tied to a device.

What does my child see when something is blocked?

A short, friendly message saying that search is for grown-ups and suggesting they try something else. No scolding, no explanation of what was blocked, and nothing that would make the topic more interesting.

Are there ads?

No, and there will not be. Advertising to children is the reason a great deal of the web is unsafe for them, and it is incompatible with not tracking anyone.

Is it perfect?

No filter is. ReKid is built fail-closed, which means it prefers to show fewer results rather than risk a wrong one — but the open web changes constantly. Please tell us when something slips through.
